This interesting article discusses the use of netbooks and open source software to make 1-1- computing affordable for schools. This is actually something we have been experimenting with at our ETC by putting a set of netbooks in a classroom and having the teacher to gather data about how well they are working in the classroom. Having this article will be very useful as we move forward with this project into a new classroom–we have also tried to vary the age group too.
